Employee onboarding platform
Coordinates every department's tasks when someone joins the company. ASP.NET Core and React inside Microsoft Teams, with background jobs doing the scheduled work.
What it is
Onboarding is a workflow problem disguised as an HR problem. A new joiner creates demands across departments (an account and mailbox from IT, a phone, a car, building access, equipment), each with its own owner and deadline. The platform models candidates, the processes that run for them, the demands on each department and the notifications that chase them. Processes nest: a parent is not done until its children are. Scheduled jobs refresh the directory cache, prepare documents and send notifications, so the workflow does not depend on anyone opening the application.
What I did
Feature work across the API and the React front end, concentrated on demands and notifications: starting child processes from a parent and the HR notification that follows, letting a manager amend a demand instead of cancelling and re-raising it, admin edit and delete for candidate records that previously needed a database change, the IT and fleet demand paths, and validation and translations across the demand forms.
For a small sister company I built the same workflow as nine Power Automate flows and a SharePoint list instead, because a full platform rollout was the wrong size for the problem.
